The short version

What a SIP account is, and why yours needs a provider

SIP is the language internet phones use to set up a call. A SIP account is your login on someone's SIP server: a username, a password and the server's address. Your app signs in with it, and the server connects your calls.

Calling out

  1. Your app or PBX

Signed in with your SIP login.

  2. Our SIP server

Checks your login and routes the call.

  3. Any phone

A mobile or landline in any country rings.

Calling in

  1. Someone dials you

From any phone, to a number you own.

  2. Your number

From $1.99 a month, in the country you pick.

  3. Your app rings

The same login takes the call.

The same number shows as your caller ID when you call out. Without one, the people you call see an international number.

Free SIP accounts exist, but they only call other SIP addresses. Linphone's own free service is a good example: it connects Linphone users to each other, not to a mobile in Lagos or a landline in Leeds. Reaching the real phone network costs money per minute, so every SIP account that calls phone numbers is a paid one.

That job is called termination: the provider hands your call to the phone network in the right country. The reverse, a phone number that rings your app, is origination. Our login does both. Calls out go to any country you hold minutes for, and calls in arrive through a number you add to the account.

What you get

Everything a SIP account should do, with nothing to sign

  • One login, every country

The same username and password call any country you have minutes for. No per-country accounts to juggle.

  • 10 calls at the same time

Enough for a small office or a call desk on one login. Some big carriers start new accounts on 2 until they are verified.

  • Works with any SIP software

Phone apps, desktop softphones and office phone systems such as 3CX, Asterisk and FreePBX.

  • Incoming calls

Add a number in the country you want, from $1.99 a month, and calls to it ring on the same login.

  • Your number as caller ID

With a number on the account, the people you call see it. Without one, they see an international number.

  • No ID, email or card

An account number is all you get and all we keep. You pay from a crypto balance you top up yourself.

Rates

What calls cost, country by country

There is no monthly fee for the login. You pay for minutes, per country, from your balance. The rates below are the per-minute price on our biggest bundle; smaller bundles cost a little more per minute, and minutes never expire.

Where to paste your login

Every SIP app asks for the same three things under slightly different names. Pick yours.

Linphone

Free app for Android, iPhone and computers

  1. 1On the login screen, tap Use a third party SIP account, then I understand.
  2. 2Username: your username. Password: your password. Domain: the server from your order.
  3. 3Set Transport to the one on your order page. Linphone picks TLS by default, which is the most common reason a first login fails.
  4. 4Tap Login. The status turns to Connected and you can dial.

How getting a SIP account usually goes

Most providers that call real phone numbers want a card, a phone number or an ID document before your first call. Here is what the common options ask for, from their own pages, checked on 26 October 2026.
  • Free SIP services

    Free, quick to create.

Call other SIP addresses only. Linphone's free service does not reach phone numbers and offers no service guarantee.

  • Large pay-as-you-go providers

Low rates and plenty of features.

Card, PayPal or wire only. VoIP.ms, for example, sets a minimum deposit and can ask for government ID through a verification firm.

  • Developer carriers

Built for apps and big call volumes.

Business details and verification for international calling. Telnyx starts new accounts on 2 calls at once.

  • Privacy number services

    Some take Bitcoin or Monero.

The best-known one, JMP.chat, offers US and Canadian numbers only, on a monthly plan, with SIP as a side feature.

A SimVala SIP account

Calls phones in 204 countries, 10 at once, from any SIP software. Paid from a crypto balance, from $0.20, with no ID, no email, no card and no monthly fee for the login.

Privacy and rules

What we know about you, and what we do not allow

What we keep

  • A random account number, stored hashed
  • Your balance and the orders you place
  • What a call needs to connect and be billed

No name, email, phone number, card or ID document, because we never ask for them. Payments on a public blockchain stay visible on that chain; Monero hides sender and amount if that matters to you.

What gets an account closed

  • Spam calls, robocalls and auto-diallers
  • Fraud, scams and impersonation
  • Harassing or threatening anyone

Privacy is for ordinary people making ordinary calls. The full rules are in our Acceptable Use Policy.

If it does not connect

The five problems everyone hits, and the fixes

Registration failed or Error

Usually the transport. Set it to the one on your order page; some apps default to TLS.

403 Forbidden or wrong password

Retype the username and password from the order page. Check the app is not using an old saved login.

408 timeout

The app cannot reach the server. Check the spelling of the server, try another network, or switch transport.

You hear them but they cannot hear you

A router feature called SIP ALG often breaks audio. Turn it off in the router, or switch the app to TCP or TLS.

No incoming calls when the app is closed

Most apps cannot be woken up by third-party accounts. Keep the app running in the background, or use a desktop app or PBX.

SIP accounts, answered

What is a SIP account?+

A login for internet calling: a username, a password and the address of a server. You type those three details into a SIP app or an office phone system, it signs in, and from then on it can make and take calls through that provider.

Can a free SIP account call normal phone numbers?+

Usually not. Free SIP services connect you to other SIP addresses, not to mobiles and landlines. Reaching the phone network costs money per minute, which is why a SIP account that calls real numbers is always paid.

How do I get a SIP account from SimVala?+

Create an account (just a number, no email), top up in crypto, and buy calling minutes for any country, from $0.20. Your SIP login appears on the order page. There is no separate fee and no monthly charge for the login itself.

Does one login call every country?+

Yes. The same username and password reach any country you hold minutes for. Each country has its own per-minute rate, paid from your balance, and the rate list on this page shows them all.

Can I use it with Asterisk, FreePBX or 3CX?+

Yes. Any software that speaks standard SIP accepts it, phone systems included. One login carries 10 calls at the same time, so a small office can share it as a trunk.

Can people call me on it?+

Yes, with a number. Add a virtual number, from $1.99 a month, and calls to it ring on the same SIP login, in your app or on your phone system.

What caller ID do people see when I call?+

Your own number, if you have one on the account. Without a number, they see an international number. You cannot type in any caller ID you like: showing numbers you do not own is how phone scams work, so we do not allow it.

Do you need my ID, email or phone number?+

No. Your account is a random account number. There is no email, no phone check, no card and no ID document at any point.

What happens when my minutes run out?+

Calls to that country stop until you buy more. Everything is prepaid from your balance, so there is never a bill afterwards and never a negative balance.

Is using an anonymous SIP account legal?+

Making ordinary calls over the internet is legal in most countries. What is not allowed, by law or by our rules, is spam calling, robocalls, harassment, fraud and pretending to be someone else.
