The hard part of selling is trust. You already have it.
Why this exists
Your people already ask you where to buy. Right now, you send them somewhere else.
Someone in your group is flying to Tokyo next week and asks which eSIM to get. You share a link to a big app. They buy there, and that store keeps the customer, the margin and the next trip too.
You did the hard part. You were the person they trusted enough to ask. This program lets you keep what you earned: the same good answer, from your own shop, under your own name, at your own price.
We built it for people with a small, real audience, not for airlines with developer teams. If a few hundred people listen when you recommend something, that is enough to start.
This is for you if
- People already ask you about travel, phones or privacy
- You can reach them in one place: a channel, a group, a client list
- You like helping people get set up, not just sending a link
- You and your customers are happy with crypto
This is not for you if
- You want passive income with no customers to talk to
- You need card payments, an API or an app SDK today
- You only want to win by being the cheapest
- You plan to sell where our rules do not allow

The guide
How to start an eSIM business: the complete guide
Everything we would tell a friend who wanted to start selling eSIMs tomorrow: what the job really is, the numbers, who to sell to, how to price, how to find the first customers and how to keep them happy. It works whether you use SimVala or not.
Chapter 1
What an eSIM reseller actually does
An eSIM is a SIM card in software. Your customer scans a QR code and their phone downloads a data plan for the country they are visiting. As a reseller you sell that QR code under your own name. You do not run a network, sign carrier contracts or keep stock.
Here is one sale from start to finish:
- 1A customer who already knows you opens your shop, from your post, your bot or a link you sent.
- 2They pick a plan for their trip and pay you in crypto.
- 3Your shop orders the eSIM, paid from your SimVala balance at the wholesale price.
- 4They get the QR code in your shop's name and install it before they leave.
- 5They land, switch the line on and are online. If they get stuck, they ask you.
Notice where the real work is: before step 1 and after step 5. Finding people who trust you, and helping them when they are nervous about a QR code in a foreign airport. The middle is automatic. That is the part a wholesaler cannot do for you, and it is why resellers exist at all.
Chapter 2
The math of a $50 start
Opening a reseller account costs $100 once, and $50 comes straight back as balance you can resell. So the real price of starting is $50. There is no monthly fee and no commission on your sales.
Take one popular product, the Japan eSIM with 5 GB for 30 days. You buy it for $3.59. Our own price is $4.49. Here is what each markup on our price earns you, and how many sales pay back the $50:
- +25% markup · you sell at $5.61profit $2.02 a sale25 sales
- +50% markup · you sell at $6.74profit $3.15 a sale16 sales
- +100% markup · you sell at $8.98profit $5.39 a sale10 sales
Fewer sales is better: a higher markup earns back the opening cost sooner.
The starting credit is stock, too. $50 buys 13 of those eSIMs at wholesale. Sold at +50%, those 13 alone bring in $87.62 from your customers.
What these numbers leave out: the network fee you pay when you top up, like any crypto payment, and your own time. They also assume you find the customers. That part is on you, and the next three chapters are about it.
Chapter 3
Pick a niche you can own
The biggest mistake new resellers make is trying to sell eSIMs to everyone. The big eSIM apps already have "everyone", with huge ad budgets. You win with a group small enough that you know some of them by name, and specific enough that you understand what they worry about before a trip.
Do not ask "who could buy an eSIM?" Ask "who already asks me for help?"
- EveryoneThe big eSIM apps fight here, with huge ad budgets. Skip it.
- All travellersStill too broad. They have no reason to pick you.
- Your groupPeople who know you and ask you first. This is where you win.
Students going abroad
They buy: 30 day country plans, and a number for bank and university codes
Find them in: Exchange program chats, student unions, language schools
Digital nomads in one city
They buy: Big or unlimited plans, regional plans for side trips
Find them in: City Telegram and Discord groups, coworking spaces
Crypto and privacy communities
They buy: No-ID eSIMs, virtual numbers, SMS codes
Find them in: Channels and forums that already pay in crypto
Travel agents and tour guides
They buy: A country plan for every client, sold with the trip
Find them in: Your own client list, booking confirmations
Diaspora communities
They buy: Plans for trips home, a number to stay reachable
Find them in: Community groups, local shops, family chats
A quick test for any niche: can you name 20 people in it? Do they already ask you for advice? Do they gather in one place you can reach this week? Three yeses, and you have a niche.
Chapter 4
Price for the customer you want
Be honest with yourself about one thing first: your customers can see our prices. SimVala is a public website. If all you offer is the same eSIM for more money, the careful buyers will find us, and they should.
So charge for what we cannot give them: your language, your advice, your fast replies on Telegram, and the fact that they already know you. People happily pay more to buy from someone they trust, as long as the help is real.
- Light$4.193 GB, 30 daysMaps, messages and a few photos
- Most pick thisMost trips$6.745 GB, 30 daysTwo weeks of maps, social apps and calls
- Heavy$11.2410 GB, 30 daysVideo, hotspot for a laptop, long stays
- Sell the trip, not the gigabyte. "Japan, two weeks" is easier to buy than "5 GB, 30 days". Name plans after what people do.
- Offer three choices. Small, right-sized and generous. Most people pick the middle, so make the middle the one you would recommend.
- Bundle what travellers forget. An eSIM plus a virtual number for bank codes abroad solves a real problem in one purchase.
- Stay out of price wars. Cutting your price is easy to copy. Being the person who answers at midnight before a flight is not.
Chapter 5
Your first 10 customers
You do not need ads for the first ten. You need ten conversations. Here is the playbook:
- 1Write down ten names. People who asked you about travel data, a second number or SMS codes in the last few months. Message them one by one, not as a broadcast.
- 2Publish one useful post. Where your people already gather, answer one real question, like how to get mobile data in Japan without roaming fees. Put your shop link at the end, not the start.
- 3Offer to help with the install. Scanning a QR code is the step people fear. A two-minute call or a short screen recording turns a nervous buyer into a repeat one.
- 4Pin your shop where they already are. Pin it in your Telegram channel or group, and add your shop bot so people can buy without leaving the chat.
- 5Ask every early buyer one question. What else would you buy from me? Their answers tell you whether to push numbers, SMS codes or calling next.
Your first 30 days
- Day 1Open your account, pick your niche, write your first useful post.
- Week 1Message your ten names. Help every buyer install, personally.
- Weeks 2 to 4Ask happy buyers to share your shop. Add a second product they asked for.
Chapter 6
Support without the stress
Almost every customer question is one of these five. Answer them once, in your own words, and keep the links handy:
- Will it work on my phone?
- Only if the phone supports eSIM and is not locked to one carrier. Ask before they pay. Our compatibility guide shows how to check in a minute.
- When should I install it?
- At home, on Wi-Fi, before the trip. Then switch the line on when they land. Our activation guide walks through it.
- I landed and there is no internet.
- Almost always a setting: data roaming must be on for the eSIM line, and the eSIM must be the line chosen for mobile data. The full checklist is in eSIM not working.
- Can I share data with my laptop?
- Usually yes, through the phone's hotspot. See using an eSIM as a hotspot.
- Does it come with a phone number?
- A data plan does not. If they need to receive calls or bank codes, sell them a virtual number too. Here is the difference.
When something really breaks, you are not alone with it. Send us the order details. After we look into it, we re-issue the product or credit your balance, as our refund policy says. SMS codes that never arrive are refunded to your balance automatically.
Chapter 7
7 mistakes new eSIM resellers make
1. Selling to everyone
A shop for everyone is a shop for no one. Start with one group you know by name, then grow.
2. Competing on price alone
The lowest price is the one thing anyone can copy tomorrow. Charge for help, speed and trust instead.
3. Not checking the phone first
A phone locked to one carrier cannot use another eSIM. One question before payment saves a refund and an angry customer.
4. Letting customers activate too early
Install before the trip, switch on after landing. Activate too soon and days of the plan are gone before the holiday starts.
5. Selling unlimited without the fine print
Unlimited plans have a fair-use limit: after a daily amount, the speed drops. Say so up front, and nobody feels cheated.
6. Running out of balance
Every order is paid from your balance at the wholesale price. Top up before a big post or a busy season.
7. Promising perfect coverage
Coverage in mountains and on islands depends on the local network. Promise fast help, not perfection.
Mistake five comes up often enough that we wrote a whole page on it: what unlimited data really means.
Chapter 8
Reseller, affiliate or MVNO?
There are three ways to make money from eSIMs. They differ in who owns the customer, and that decides almost everything else.
Affiliate
- You earn
- A commission on sales you refer
- Your brand
- No, theirs
- Owns the customer
- The provider
- You set the price
- No
- To start
- Free, minutes
- The catch
- Small earnings, no relationship
ResellerBest fit if people ask you
- You earn
- The gap between your price and wholesale
- Your brand
- Yes
- Owns the customer
- You
- You set the price
- Yes
- To start
- $100 once with SimVala, a day
- The catch
- You answer your customers' questions
MVNO
- You earn
- The gap between carrier rates and your plans
- Your brand
- Yes
- Owns the customer
- You
- You set the price
- Yes
- To start
- Carrier contracts and licenses, often years
- The catch
- Large costs and real network operations
If you only want to drop a link now and then, an affiliate program is fine. If people already come to you for advice, reselling pays far better, because the customer stays yours. An MVNO only makes sense with serious capital behind it.
Ready to try the reseller route? The steps are just above, and the prices are here.
More than eSIMs
Resell virtual numbers, SMS codes and calls too
Most eSIM wholesalers sell data and nothing else. Your shop can also sell the products travellers and privacy-minded buyers ask for next, from the same balance at the same 20% off.
Virtual numbers in 204 countries, with two-way SMS and unlimited calls, rented by the month or the year. SMS codes for sign-ups on popular apps, refunded automatically when no code arrives. Prepaid calling to landlines and mobiles abroad, at a per-minute rate shown before you buy.
That makes one shop a virtual number reseller, an SMS verification reseller and a VoIP reseller at once, with no extra setup.
Compare
How this compares with other eSIM reseller programs
We read the public reseller pages of the eSIM wholesalers that show up first in search. This is what they usually offer, next to ours, including where they are ahead.
To start
Typical: Free to join, or a deposit
SimVala: $100 once, $50 back as credit
Price list
Typical: Often behind a sign-up form or a sales call
SimVala: Public, on this page
Paying us
Typical: Card or bank transfer, crypto rarely mentioned
SimVala: Nine coins, crypto only
Company papers
Typical: Not stated up front
SimVala: Not needed
Your own domain
Typical: Rarely mentioned
SimVala: Included
What you can sell
Typical: eSIM data
SimVala: eSIMs, numbers, SMS codes and calls
API and app SDK
Typical: Usually offered
SimVala: Not yet
Based on public reseller pages we read on 24 October 2026. Terms change, so check each provider's own page. If you need card payments, an API or an app SDK today, a bigger wholesaler is the better fit.
Reseller rules
The rules every shop follows
Short and strict, so honest sellers are not treated like the few who are not. Our Acceptable Use Policy applies to you and to your customers.
- No fraud, scams or impersonation, and no shops that pretend to be another brand.
- No spam: no bulk or automated messages and no robocalls.
- No sales to sanctioned countries or people.
- No codes for dating apps owned by Match Group, such as Tinder and Hinge.
- The $100 fee is not refundable. Your balance stays yours to spend.
- We can close a shop that breaks these rules.
eSIM reseller questions, answered
How do I become an eSIM reseller?+
Pick a wholesale provider, set up a shop and find your first customers. With SimVala you create an account (no email), top up with crypto and open a reseller account for $100 once. $50 of it comes back as credit, and you buy every product 20% under our regular price.
Do I need a company or a telecom license?+
We do not ask for company papers or ID. You are not a mobile operator: we supply the eSIMs and numbers, you sell them. Whether your country wants a business registration or tax number for online sales is a local rule, so check it where you live.
How much does it cost to start?+
$100 once. $50 of that goes straight back into your balance, so opening really costs $50. There is no monthly fee and no minimum order after that.
Can I get the $100 back?+
No, the fee is not refundable. The $50 starting credit stays in your balance and never expires, so you can spend it on any eSIM, number or SMS code.
How much can I earn reselling eSIMs?+
You buy 20% under our regular price and set your own selling price, so you keep the difference on every sale. Most of your profit comes from the price you choose and how many customers you bring. Try your numbers in the calculator on this page.
Is eSIM reselling profitable?+
It can be, when you sell to people who already trust you. The product is cheap to buy and costs nothing to store or ship, so your margin is the gap between your price and the wholesale price. It stops being profitable when you try to win on price alone against big apps with large ad budgets.
Can I sell eSIMs on Telegram?+
Yes. Your reseller account includes a Telegram shop bot under your own bot's name, so your channel or group can buy without leaving Telegram.
Can I sell through Shopify or WooCommerce?+
Not at the start. Your shop is hosted by us on your own domain, with the crypto checkout built in, so you do not need a store platform or plugins.
How do my customers pay, and how do I get paid?+
Your customers pay in crypto in your shop. Each order is paid from your SimVala balance at your wholesale price, so the difference between the two is your profit. Keep your balance topped up to keep orders flowing.
Which coins can I use?+
Nine: Bitcoin, Monero, Ethereum, BNB, Polygon, Solana, TRON, USDT and USDC. USDT and USDC work on several networks. Bitcoin is on-chain only.
Who supports my customers?+
You do: they are your customers and your brand. We handle the supply side. One-time SMS codes refund to your balance automatically when no code arrives, and if a product does not work as described, we re-issue it or credit your balance after we look into it.
Can I use my own domain?+
Yes. You point your domain at your shop with one DNS record, and we host it with HTTPS. You add your shop name, logo and colours yourself.
Is there an API?+
Not at the start. The reseller program begins with hosted shops on your own domain and a Telegram shop bot. If you need an API, tell us what you want to build.
What is the difference between an eSIM reseller and an MVNO?+
An MVNO rents network capacity from carriers and runs its own mobile service, which takes contracts, licenses and a lot of money. An eSIM reseller sells ready-made plans from a wholesaler under its own brand. You can start reselling in a day; an MVNO takes years.
