Can a burner phone be traced?
Yes, more easily than most people think. A phone is a radio. Whenever it is switched on, it tells the network roughly where it is. The EFF points out that a network can also spot two phones that travel together, so a burner carried in the same pocket as your main phone can be tied to you.
