Mobiles: 10 digits starting with 6, 7, 8 or 9
Every Indian mobile number has 10 digits and starts with 6, 7, 8 or 9. Some people write it with a 0 or with 91 in front. Strip those and dial +91 plus the 10 digits.
Landlines: the city code without its 0
Landlines start with a city (STD) code: 011 for Delhi, 022 for Mumbai, 080 for Bengaluru, 044 for Chennai, 033 for Kolkata. From the US, drop the 0 of the city code. Delhi 011 xxxx xxxx becomes 011 91 11 xxxx xxxx: the first 011 is the US exit code, the second 11 is Delhi.
